The Spitfires scored first in this close first half when Chris Wallis powered over from 15 meters out to put the Spitifres 4-0 up. The Skolars however hit back shortly after with two trys to make the score 8-4.
With the Skolars bigger pack now making good in roads they capitalized on the space out wide and scored two more trys making the score 20-4 10 minutes before the half time.
The Spitfires then put some good sets of six together and the pressure told as hooker Gary Smart scooted from dummy half to score in the corner making the half time score 20-8 to the London Skolars.
Influential prop forward Chris Wallis was unable to continue in the second half after picking up an ankle injury leaving the Spitfires down to 12 men.
It was top defence in the second hand from the Skolars when they stopped four try scoring opportunities from the Spitfres. Both Will Larkin
and Ethan Carpenter where held up on the try line leaving the Spitfires scoreless in the second half.
The Skolars excellent defence and pace out wide told in the second half as they ran out 52-8 winners. Despite the loss the squad are still confident as they look to Newham Dockers in two weeks time.
The Spitfires are still recruiting from schools years 7,8 and 9 for this years summer league which has 7 games to run still.
