Spitfires looking to progress to the Super Sixes under new format

“The Super Sixes is an exciting new format for us!” Andy Beal (Club Chairman)

Southampton Spitfires are facing a new format this summer. They have been drawn alongside Reading Raiders, Oxford Cavaliers and Portsmouth Seahawks. The Spitfires fixtures are:

Round 1 Southampton v Reading (12.5.18)

Round 2 Oxford v Southampton (19.5.18)

Round 3 Southampton v Portsmouth (2.6.18)

Round 4 Reading v Southampton (9.6.18)

Round 5 Southampton v Oxford (16.6.18)

Round 6 Portsmouth v Southampton (23.6.18)

The top two teams will qualify for the Super Sixes and could face teams such as Swindon, Forest of Dean, Cheltenham, Bristol and Bath. The bottom two teams in the league go into a championship play off.

Training for the Spitfires Open Age (16+) starts in mid April and the club is looking to recruit new players for this summers campaign. Interested players can add us on facebook or call Director of Rugby Glenn Tyreman.
